Product description

From the content
Motives and special features of a winter tour, planning and preparation, equipment and food in contrast to summer, nature, cold and dangers in winter, safety precautions before and during the tour, behavior in emergencies.

about the author
Dirk Klawatzki and Dietmar Heim have been trekking for many years in northern Scandinavia, Iceland and Canada. In summer they are on the road as hikers and by canoe, in winter they have experienced the Nordic wilderness on skis in mostly expedition-like tours lasting several weeks.

Brief description
This OutdoorHandbuch highlights the special features and attractions of a winter tour. In contrast to summer, many northern regions have serious differences due to their geographic location, which make a trekking tour in the snow an incomparable adventure

The reader is given assistance with the planning and preparation as well as with the selection of the equipment and food supply. The extraordinary adventure character of such a tour is also described and the dangers and safety precautions to be taken are pointed out.
