about the author
Andreas Happe, a trained tourism manager and graduate geographer, has made his passion his profession. Between Greenland and Kilimanjaro, the Andes and the Himalayas, he has been leading hiking, trekking and mountaineering groups to the most interesting landscapes on this planet for three decades. Because he was on the move in winter landscapes long before the boom with snowshoes, he looks back on extensive experience. At the same time, he repeatedly deals with beginners during his guided tours and intensively studies the theory of snowshoeing.
In the Conrad stone publishing house of it already the moving leader "Watzmanntrek" appeared.

Brief description
Hiking is becoming increasingly popular - even in the cold season. Why should one do without it, especially in the fascinating snowy winter landscapes? The OutdoorHandbook "Snowshoeing" provides the knowledge that hikers need to enjoy the white splendor safely and effortlessly

This includes first of all the right equipment for different weather conditions and a proper tour planning according to one's own abilities. Questions about the suitable area, the best route in the terrain or the walking technique and tactics are answered comprehensively. In addition to analyzing beginner's mistakes, the book provides many tips and tricks, such as how to climb with less effort or the best ways to stow snowshoes on a backpack. Special emphasis is also placed on snowshoeing safety and raising awareness of alpine hazards.
