about the authors
Johann Schinabeck lives in Sweden and works as a trekking and tour guide for various tour operators. Published by him are: "USA: Grand Canyon Trails" (out of print) and "Equipment 1 - from head to toe" (co-author). Markus Gründel has been a passionate hiker and hobbyist since childhood and loves technical gadgets. The trained banker is mainly in Germany and Scandinavia on foot, by bike or by boat on the road

Shortly after he first turned his hobby into a career and moved into the outdoor industry, he found his first geocache in 2002 and has since fallen for the fascination of the modern scavenger hunt. In the following years he hid caches in Germany and Norway. In addition, he has since organized geocaching events for various occasions and themes such as Walpurgis, the 4th International Earthcache Event (4.IEE) and runs Germany's first travel bug museum

With the success of his book "Geocaching I", which became a German-language standard work and is known as "The Cacher Bible" and "The Gründel", he was able to realize himself for the second time. In the meantime, he is known as Germany's first full-time geocacher and is a sought-after contact when it comes to topics such as geocaching, GPS and outdoor or their combination.
