The plugs for camping, caravans, mobile homes and camper vans were standardised with the introduction of the 3-pole CEE at many European campsites. With the blue input socket, angle coupling, CEE adapter, power distributors, cables or the camping cable drum, you can supply your vehicle with safe power up to 16 A.

CEE - The camping power supply

Why is the CEE for camping blue?

CEE plugs and sockets for camping, mobile home, caravan are immediately recognisable by the blue colour scheme. The familiar blue colour indicates the approved voltage level of 200-250 V and the frequency range of 50/60 Hz. The 3-pole CEE power supply in the camping area is fused with 16 A. This is absolutely sufficient, as the campsites' electricity network is secured with 4 A, 6 A, 10 A, or in the best case 16 A (often for several consumers). Buy or order everything for your CEE power supply on site now.

There is little or no CEE supply here:

  • In Switzerland, here you need a SEV coupling
  • Southern Europe, at older campsites a Schuko adapter is often necessary
  • In the UK, you need an adapter for the BS 1363 ("british 3-pin") plug.

Using a camping CEE plug to draw power

Arriving at the campsite, it is almost 100% the first activity. As soon as the vehicle is standing straight, the CEE plug is plugged into the supply station of your campsite and connected to the CEE input socket of the vehicle. The power supply to the vehicle has the highest priority for the time being. Because as soon as the CEE plug 3-pole has landed in the blue CEE socket batteries are conserved and all electrical appliances in your mobile home run at 100 percent, as far as the campsite's fuse protection allows.

The CEE cable drum and the CEE distributor

With a so-called camping cable drum the 25 m CEE cable is neatly stowed away and quickly packed away again after use. Good CEE cable reels also have several protective contact sockets and usually another CEE socket for outdoor use. This ensures sufficient power supply under your awning or in the awning tent for, for example, an awning light, cooler or a stove. If you need even more power sources, there are CEE distributors with several Schuko and CEE sockets.

CEE cable, the direct connection

Inexpensive CEE cables for camping connect your vehicle simply and directly to the existing power source. For short stays, connecting with an extension cable is a quick solution. For longer stays, we recommend a CEE cable drum because of the many connection options.

How to recognise a CEE camping cable:

  • Rubber-sheathed 3-pole cable (rubber cable)
  • H07RN-F3G 2.5 mm².
  • Protection class: IP44 (Protected against solid foreign bodies with Ø ≥ 0.03 in, protection against splashing water on all sides)

Necessary accessories - the CEE adapter

CEE adapters should always be in your luggage. The CEE-Schuko adapter connects the "house socket" with the CEE socket. Some campsites, especially in southern countries, still offer electricity from Schuko sockets. A Schuko adapter is also quite advantageous when parking in front of your own front door. With a CEE adapter for the household socket, the power supply is secured and the batteries of your mobile home or caravan are protected. CEE adapters are available as short adapters or as adapter cables .

With the blue input socket, angle coupling, CEE adapter, power distributors, cables or the camping cable drum, you can supply your vehicle with safe power up to 16 A.

It is best to pack a SEV-CEE adapter for Switzerland in your luggage. All roads lead to Rome and many appealing holiday routes through Switzerland. With the 3-pole SEV adapter, you can get electricity at all common sockets in Switzerland. If your camper takes you to the "island", you will need an adapter for the "British 3Pin" for Great Britain and the Commonwealth.
